This slide show is a compilation of photographs I took while travelling Thailand from November 2007 to May 2008. It includes pictures of Bangkok, Koh Phi Phi, Kon Lanta, Koh Lipe, and the Songkran festival.

I arrived in Thailand during the “mild” season which lasts from about November to February. I put “mild” in quotes because, as a Canadian from Calgary, I am more accustomed to -10 degrees and snow in November! The seasons will vary slightly, depending on which part of the country you are in. Below are the seasons and corresponding months for southern Thailand:

Life Wandering

This video is a rather abstract creation that involved a lot of experimentation with Windows Movie Maker.

One day I accidentally locked my keys in my car and had to wander around while I waited for a spare key to arrive. I ended up in the local park that was stunningly beautiful. I decided to come back later and film it. This is a result of my work including some shots of myself “wandering” through town.

I figured that a lot of people drive by this park every day without appreciating its serenity and beauty. Due to our hectic lives, we miss out on experiencing a lot of natural beauty every day of our lives. We get so caught up in our habits and daily routine that we forget to explore the world around us.

Escape To Thailand

Do you ever get the urge to do something totally unexpected and out of the ordinary? Have your days become so routine and predictable that you feel like your life is slowly passing you by? I know exactly what you mean! Perhaps it’s time to escape your environment and experience something completely different. Why not try Thailand? I did for six months, and it was an experience I won’t soon forget!
