What do you want the most in life? Wealth, health, good relationships, success, power? According to The Secret you can have whatever you want in life, no exceptions.
So many people these days are trapped inside a box. They think the same thoughts, speak the same words, behave the same way, and do the same things – every day. It’s so easy to get caught up in a daily routine that we rarely take time to stop and think about where our habits are leading us. But if we don’t figure out what our core values are – what we really want in life , and create our habits based on that, we end up living on “auto-pilot” – programmed by someone else through advertisements, television, and other people’s beliefs. On auto-pilot your destiny is chosen for you by other people. Wouldn’t you rather choose your own destination in life – isn’t that what will make you truly fulfilled?
What separates the great from the mediocre? If we were to compare a successful entrepreneur with a homeless man what differences in character would we discover? I would presume that the businessman has a positive outlook on life and is very ambitious. The poor man is probably bitter and feels helpless. So did the businessman choose to be successful? And did the homeless man choose to be poor? The question really is, do circumstances control the outcome of a person’s life or is the outcome solely determined by the person’s attitude? If Bill Gates wasn’t graced with the circumstances that were present at the time of his success, would he be as rich and powerful as he is today? Would he have continued his pursuit or would he have given up if faced with more unfavorable circumstances?
